We’ve got some big news. If it seems like there’s been a lot of it lately, it’s because it’s been a busy couple of months.

With the air quality at all-time lows in the Bay Area, people are hunkering down indoors for the weekend. Keeping that in mind, we decided to put together a little list of totally binge-able shows (outside of the usual HGTV suspects) that we’re loving right now.

We’re currently working on adding some beautiful bedding, room darkening curtains, an updated little coffee/tea station and surrounding ourselves with art, plants... all the little finishing touches that make it feel like a place we’re excited to spend time in.

I decided to “customize” the IKEA version instead and create my own little dream kitchen, complete with copper hardware, marble countertops, and an amazing, botanical print wallpaper.

I wanted to create a project that most of us could do with things that we already have on hand or that you would pick up as part of your weekly grocery run.

It’s a quick, easy and affordable little project, and the results were so realistic we had to remind the recipients not to water them.

The finish is perfectly imperfect and the gold adds a lot of depth and really brings out the detail in the mirror. I’m a big fan of finding ways to reuse pieces in different spaces and I love that this curbside find has been a part of so many places that I’ve called home.

One of the magical things about Ice Dying- aside from the swirling patterns and soft watercolor effect- is that one color becomes many as a by-product of the process. Any secondary color that you pick up will do this, separating into the many hues that make up that one shade as the ice melts away.
