Dorm Room Decor: Eclectic Bohemian
In honor of back to school season, we’ve decided to try something new and bring you a series. Every week for a month we’ll be bringing you a new dorm room design. Keep checking back, and you can find all the current posts here.
This week, we're embracing color and pattern to create an "Eclectic Bohemian" look. Saturated color and variety of textures keep your eye moving around the room without causing it to feel cluttered or overwhelming. The clashing prints work well together both because they share a similar motif and because we kept the Otomi print bedding and carved wood screen neutral and let the rug stand out. The colorful rug further unifies the scheme by tying in the artwork, which picks up its pink background, and the dip-dyed wall hanging which pulls from its purple accents. The curves of both the fan back chair and screen and their open structure keep things feeling airy and organic. We love the flexibility of a floating screen in a dorm, you can use it by the bed to create privacy, set it up near a wall for a makeshift dressing room, or place it at the head of the bed as a pretty headboard.
