Target is Re-Releasing Some of its Top Designer Collabs this Saturday
Target is getting ready to roll out a fashion time capsule of sorts to commemorate twenty years of designer collaborations. With select pieces from twenty of its top collaborations, it’s not only a blast from the past, but it’s also a chance to snag a something you may have missed the first time around.
First, the essential details. It’s dropping this Saturday, Sept 14th both online, in stores, and on the app. In-store items may vary, and you can use the design partner finder tool to see what is available near you.
It will feature nearly 300 pieces from past collections encompassing both home decor and apparel and accessories. Notable returning designs include Missoni, Lilly Pulitzer, and Rodarte alongside Starck and Michael Graves.
You can browse all 288 items online now and save your favorites for faster shopping once the sale hits. It pays to do your homework ahead of time as these drops tend to sell out online nearly instantly.
The collection includes both straight and plus sizes, and prices will range from $7-$160. Stores will open at their regularly scheduled times, but you’ll want to line up early. The return window on collection purchases is 14 days, which brings me to one of my favorite tips: check your local store for returns around the 14-day mark! I’ve gotten my hands on pieces that I missed on a launch day this way in the past.
A few more shopping tips from the trenches: once you’ve saved all of your favorite items make sure your address and credit card info is all up to date on your account. If you’re shopping the app, be sure Apple Pay is set up as well. Check to make sure you are logged in before beginning to shop and have both the desktop and app versions of the site ready to go. Often when one crashes, the other will still be up and running. Target has a dedicated Instagram page for the collection, we recommend giving it a follow to stay up to date on what time items will go live online.
The drop coincides with the publishing of the book, Target: 20 Years of Design for All: How Target Revolutionized Accessible Design, $30.49 a coffee table book published by Rizzoli, which is available to buy now.
