Welcome to the weekly Design Dispatch. This week we're talking kid's furniture that is cooler than yours, a pop-up drive-in, and why we love British reality TV.

DESIGN NEWS:

If you've ever wished you could snap your fingers and the cast of Queer Eye would magically appear to makeover an aspect of your life (is that just me?), the Tan France x Etsy collection is the answer to at least one of your prayers… because the whole thing is so very giftable. Seriously, it's like Tan himself has appeared to do your holiday shopping and all you need to do is click add to cart.

We were huge fans of Leanne Ford's Crate and Barrel collection, so when we heard she was launching a pint-sized version for Crate and Kids, we were anxious to see how her style translated. The pieces are true to her aesthetic, neutral, and modern without a twee print or primary color in sight, but she keeps things interesting with sculptural forms and playful motifs.

LOCAL INTEREST:

Following in the footsteps of Fort Mason Flicks, Bernal Height's Almany market is slated to transform into a (free!) outdoor pop up drive-in theater. Dubbed the South Slope Cinema, you can view the line-up and make your reservation online.

WATCH:

The Great Pottery Throwdown has debuted on HBO Max and has all the elements we love in a good British reality competition. Quirky judges who happen to be masters at their craft, relatable contestants, and an overall feeling that while everyone really is trying their best, they are nothing but kind and supportive to their competition. It's the perfect light-hearted binge-worthy escape for our present moment, oh, and the pottery is pretty cool too.
