Our Design Predictions for 2025 with Redfin
While the trend cycle is moving at an ever-increasing speed, when Redfin reached out this year for our 2025 trend predictions (you can find our 2020 prediction for them here), we had some thoughts. Trends in design can be a tricky subject because, at the end of the day, a home should be personal and designed around the ones who live in it, not based on what's making the rounds on social media at the moment. On the flip side, sometimes they can give us some new inspiration, help us see things with fresh eyes, and get unstuck when we've been staring at the same four walls a little too long. For this year's prediction, we leaned into small changes that can shift the mood of the space. Here are our 2025 predictions, to see the complete article and what all the experts had to say, you can read the full article here: Home Interior Design Trends for 2025: What's In, What's Out | ApartmentGuide | Rent
"Color is bigger than ever, as evidenced by the rise of "color drenching" (we love saturated shades by Farrow & Ball for this) and the unexpected red theory. In the new year, things might start to move away from green to include a broader spectrum of colors like pink, red, and brown as people become more comfortable with color in general, and color in unexpected places, like interior doors, will become more popular.
One thing we will continue to shift away from in 2025 is the general desaturation of everything that we saw in the 2010s, where everything from the walls to the floor to the furniture took on a gray cast to rival a Tim Burton film. We're embracing warmth in our interior spaces in the new year and leaning into creating homes that feel comforting at the end of the day. Lighting follows suit with plenty of lamps and lower lighting sources dotted around the room with a warm color temperature over one bright, white lighting source directly overhead."
