Creating Customized Thank You Cards With Basic Invite | Sponsored Post
At first glance, Basic Invite looks like most other online-based card services, but once you dig a little deeper, you find that the seamlessly integrated features and nearly endless customization options make it stand apart. The more I explored the site, the more I wished that it had been around when I tied the knot. From the integrated wedding website, simple link-based address collection, and direct shipping to the ability to customize it entirely to both your theme and color scheme (even foil), with everything you might need to create the perfect stationery suite, including Save the Date’s, Invitations, Menus, Programs, and not least of all Thank You cards.
This last one is what I took for a spin on the site. My daughter’s fourth birthday is coming up, and she’s at an age where we’re trying to teach her about gratitude and expressing appreciation to those around her. It can be tricky to keep kids from getting into “I want” with an outpouring of gifts from loved ones at that age, but taking the time to say thanks is an important step.
When browsing the options, it was pretty easy to find a few that met my criteria (we’re throwing a fairytale themed party) but hard to narrow it down to just one. I opted for a couple of different designs to play around with and got to customizing. It’s pretty addictive, even the smallest detail can be tweaked to your specifications (with over 180 colors), but the designs are created in such a way that it’s pretty difficult to make them look bad. First up was a mermaid-themed card with a beautifully illustrated quality. I created a soft pastel color scheme with gold foil detail. Next was a pretty botanical design that gave me an opportunity to really play with the color palette. I applied a rose gold foil to the text on this one that popped against the background and gave it a little something special. The browser allows you to see an instant preview of your designs, but you can also order samples so you can see and feel the cards in person before ordering.
Not satisfied with just creating the cards for my daughter’s birthday, I decided to see if I could create a couple to send out to my own clients and collaborators that would fit in with Design Confetti’s branding. Using the color selections, I was able to bring the blush tones from my logo into the designs and found fonts that were a near-perfect match for the ones I use on the site. What really sealed the deal was the gold foil confetti design. It was interesting to see how I could create cards for such different applications that felt so completely customized to my needs, and it was a lot of fun to play designer for a bit.
