Weekly Design Dispatch: Pothole Art, Fire Relief and the Return of the House Dress

Illustrated by Rachel Hillberg

Welcome to the weekly Design Dispatch. This week we're talking our new go-to WFH style, the best deals this week, and how Potholes in the Tenderloin are getting a bold, new look.

DESIGN NEWS:

This week we made an argument for why house dresses better than sweats and rounded up 50 of our favorite options, with details like washability and the all-important pocket factor.

Lego and Ikea just launched a genius little collaboration of storage boxes for Legos that both keep them contained and give you a surface to build on. The collection is called BYGGLEK, inspired, we assume by the sound you make when you step on a rogue Lego.

The Labor Day sales have started early this year, and we're rounding up all the best deals. Be sure to check back as we'll be updated the list regularly throughout the week.

LOCAL INTEREST:

With the wildfires raging in the Bay Area, finding ways to help is complicated further by the pandemic. SFist has created a list of ways you can help the firefighters and victims right now.

The Tenderloin's "pothole artist" in collaboration with local artists and the Tenderloin museum has created the "Resin in Pavement" walking tour. While the official tour on Sept 5th is sold out, there's a map you can check out to take a self-guided tour of your own.
