Pretty Hospital Gowns for Labor and Delivery

Image via James Fox Co

I went back and forth a bit on writing this piece because let’s be real for a second here; birth can get messy. With my first, I was grateful to be able to strip off my hospital issued gown without a second thought and don a clean one. That said, there is something comforting about feeling a little more like yourself in what can be an intense and at times scary experience, albeit with pretty amazing results. I also remember appreciating all the little extras that made me feel a bit more comfortable and at home when I spent time on and off hospital bedrest with my first complicated pregnancy.

One final thing worth mentioning, I highly recommend you check your individual hospital’s policies on what you can wear for delivery, some may require you wear the gowns they issue or have different policies for c-section patients. All the options on our list have snaps down the back for easy access in case of an epidural and on the shoulders for breastfeeding.
